The Venice Glass Week is an international festival founded in 2017 to celebrate, support and promote the art of glassmaking: the artistic and economic activity for which the Lagoon City of Venice has been renowned around the world for over 1,000 years.

The fifth edition – #VivaVetro! – took place from 4th to 12th September 2021, and was attended by 78,000 visitors. The festival featured a programme of almost 250 events organised by 170 participants at 146 different venues around Venice, Murano and Mestre, including exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, demonstrations, conferences, family activities and more.

The festival, which is promoted by Comune di Venezia , is organised by Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, LE STANZE DEL VETRO Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and Consorzio Promovetro Murano.

In 2022, which has officially been designated by the UN as the International Year of Glass, The Venice Glass Week is uniting with Vision Milan Glass Week to present a major new festival: The Italian Glass Weeks. The first week of the festival will take place in Milan from 10th to 18th September, and will be dedicated primarily to industrial glass. The second week will take place in Venice from 17th to 25th September, and will be dedicated to artistic glass.
