Thea Hawlin is a freelance writer who has written on arts and culture for the Telegraph, the Guardian, Frieze, and The Art Newspaper. She currently works on Murano as the communications assistant at Berengo Studio.
Having first been introduced to glass at Edinburgh College of Art and driven by a desire to progress his existing sculptural practice through this versatile yet highly challenging material, Alan Horsley first began to focus on the techniques of moulding and casting in 2009. This culminated in an MFA in Glass in 2012 and a firm commitment to research, both contemporary and historical, of the many facets of moulding and casting technologies as well as the structure and behaviour of glasses themselves. Horsley has worked as a studio assistant for glass and ceramic artists, freelance mould-maker, as a technical instructor at the University of Edinburgh for Glass Design and has developed and run the growing glass casting facilities at Berengo Studio in Murano since 2017.
Vendulka Prchalová (Liberec, Czech Republic, 1989) is a young Czech glass artist. She studied glass since high school, continued in the studio of Akad. Mal. Ilja Bílek (FUD UJEP) and Prof. Rony Plesl (AAAD Prague) where she is currently working on her doctoral research focusing on new investment materials for mold making for kiln casting of glass. In her work, she focuses on connecting classic craftsmanship and new technologies. She is equally dedicated to connecting trends from contemporary art and traditional glassmaking. She is the winner of the Autonoma Residency Prize 2021 for her participation at The Venice Glass Week HUB Under35.
In 2006, Marzena Krzemińska-Baluch received the Master of Arts degree at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Since 2007, she has been employed at the diploma-granting Art Glass Workshop. Since 2016, she has been working as the Internationalization Commissioner at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. In 2011, she was selected "Emerging Artist in Residence" by the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA, U.S.A. In 2012, she was honored with the position of "Teaching Assistant" by the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, WA, U.S.A. . In 2013 she received a scholarship at the Pilchuck Glass School, Stanwood, WA, U.S.A. In 2018, she received the Doctor of Arts degree at her alma mater.In 2016, she worked as Visiting Scholar/ Visiting Artist at Ball State University School of Art, Muncie, IN, USA and received the Silver Award (second prize) in the "Emerge 2016" international competition organized by Bullseye Project, Portland, OR, USA. In 2016, she received a honorary mention in the "Warm Glass Prize 2016" international competition in Wrighton, Great Britain.. In 2018, she received the „Silver Award” at the Toyama Intenational Glass Exhibition, Japan.
Agnieszka Leśniak Banasiak /PhD/ (b. 1978) Poland, graduated from The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw, in 2002-2003 she was also a student at the Academia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Since 2006 she has worked at the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass. Doctoral degree, 2016. Designer collaborating with Krosno Glassworks in Krosno, Violetta Glassworks in Stronie Śląskie, She is the initiator and curator of exhibitions and artistic events. She is passionate about the processes of hot glass matter and geometry in art. She creates objects, installations and glass design. She has won many awards in the field of art and design, among others: Gold Medal of the International Fairs in Munich, category Meister der Moderne, Germany 2014. She has participated in numerous exhibitions, symposia, workshops and art and design fairs.

The founder of FRESH - Contemporary Glass From Finland, Helsinki based Sini Majuri (Master of Arts) is awarded with multiple design awards, such as Golden A'Design Award From Italy. Hersculptures have appeared in over 60 exhibitionsin New York, Tokyo, New Mexico, Toronto, Venice and Hong Kong. Majuri often combines glass with 3D design and comic strip influenced expression. Her art has been featured in various international publications, for example in magazinessuch as Designboom, Elle and Urban Glass. ”In a way glassis one of the key technologiesthat modern science has evolved from – through the invention of the lens. Glassis a medium that can be weightless and strong at the same time. It bendslight and hasinteresting optical properties. So, when working with glass, I have a wild material that islike no other. This makesit a perfect medium for creating something poetic.”
