The subject that has been my passion and challenge for several years concerns geometry. The idea of my artistic works is the result of a continuous process of finding the ideal spatial form, which is precisely the starting point of the line that enters my glass sculptures, reminiscent of architectural works, monumental, sharply defined in space and yet beyond materiality.
Central to my work in glass is a long-standing interest in the bond between form and space. My practice explores this dialogue, with a particular focus on the characteristics of perception that shape our vision and interpretation of the environment. My work in glass communicates the essence of an experience of light, shadow and three-dimensionality.
In my artistic search I strive to obtain some kind of order, ideal of purity of lines and lightness of a form. The relationship between object and space. Combinations of contrast: immaterial transparency and material colour of glass is the basis for my creation of objects. Hence I visualise “geo-metric” concepts. ”Geo” means earth, matter, and “metry” is a dimension, spaciousness. I create objects that do not exist in the audience’s perception, I am an architect of intentional space.
The act of making is contemplative – it is a tool which allows me to explore, strengthen and learn from my own understanding of place, space and time.
The inauguration of this exhibition will take place on September, 11th at the same venue.
