During the tour of Ca’ Foscari and Ca’ Dolfin, lasting around 75 minutes, visitors will discover the spaces and the history of two symbolic sites of the university. The itinerary starts in the courtyards of Ca’ Foscari, visiting the Historical Archive exhibition and the splendid Aula Baratto designed by Carlo Scarpa, and then continues to the Ca’ Dolfin building opposite Ca’ Foscari. Ca’ Dolfin, a 16th -Century palace, is home to the splendid Aula Magna Silvio Trentin, decorated with frescos from the 17th Century, and gives visitors the chance to admire a unique view of the Basilica dei Frari.
On the occasion of The Venice Glass Week”, Ca’ Foscari Tour offers an in-depth analysis of the history of the glass within Ca’ Foscari and Ca’ Dolfin. There is particular focus on chandeliers made by Murano glassmakers and wall-lights formed by architect Carlo Scarpa.
