Mind Blowers

Orovetro Murano

Description

During The Venice Glass Week, the masterpieces of contemporary glass artists Mauro Bonaventura and Simone Crestani – both masters of the blown lampworking technique – will be on display at the historic former “Pauly & C” Orovetro Murano shop under the arcades of Museo Correr in Saint Mark's Square, in the heart of the lagoon city. The artworks of Mauro Bonaventura – almost-living figures, often enclosed in intricate networks of cages or spheres – will set up a dialogue with the poetic creations of Simone Crestani – constantly inspired by the enchantment of nature and its vital forces – in a special exhibition which will make the windows of this historic Venice shop even more evocative and further enhance Orovetro Murano’s artisan production.

The exhibition at Pauly & C store will culminate in a special event that will take place at Orovetro furnace in Murano, involving a spectacular show performed by the two artists.
