Murano Art Glass during the period between the two World Wars: 1919-1939

Galleria Claudio Gianolla

Description

The collection of venetian glass belongs to the antique dealer Claudio Gianolla. With his 2019 partecipation, he desires to underline the threshold between the past tradition and the modern era. Its unique guide line, are six glass works created by distinct authors active in Murano at the time. Considered ‘the golden age’ of contemporary venetian art glass, those decades owe immense innovation, expression and aesthetic refinement, despite the difficult national - European- and worldwide situation. The evolution in art forms, such as music, the World Expo, the Biennials, the Triennials, the Cinema as well as archaeological excavations, all contributed to inspire the cultural transition of the 'New Century'.
