The two TVGW Tours by Nexa for Saturday 12th September in Venice will disclose the soul of a city historically at the centre of fashion and creativity, where, in the 1950s, traditional artisan workshops and high-fashion were brought together by a world famous designer who launched "trompe l'oeil" and radically changed the way a bag was worn.
The first tour leaves at 10 am and will take you to what was once Roberta di Camerino's atelier, where daughter Roberta and granddaughter Tessa will welcome you into the designer's archives and present the new exhibition “Encounters with Glass” – created in collaboration with AWD Studio and Murano Jewels - featuring necklaces, bags, belts and scarves that all incorporate Murano glass. Here, a glass artist-artisan will create extraordinary lampwork beads right before your eyes.
Departure Point: In front of the Church of SS. Giovanni e Paolo
At 5 pm your Nexa guide will introduce you to the magical world of S.U.V Venetian Beads, the vibrant workshop where precious materials are combined to create exquisite glass beads, and then on to La Perla Nera, Paola's shop/studio where the artisan/crafter creates original statement jewelry with Murano beads and a very personal design.
Departure Point: Stazione Santa Lucia - ACTV Stop "A"
Organized by: Nexa - Event & Travel Designers for The Venice Glass Week
